Docs and Dead Flowers - Part 1
Inspired by Joanna Wecht I've decided to try out photo manipulation. Photography isn't my strong suit but I thought it might be interesting to collect a few suitably "grungy items" - docs, boots, dead flowers and skull beads in this case - and take some photos.
I then got the photos printed and destroyed them in a range of different ways: I scratched in to them using a pen knife; splattered them with acrylics; made patterns using masking tape; poured wax over some and burned them in an attempt to create a range of interesting effects.
I feel like this method is suited to the grunge aesthetic as it echos the "do-it-yourself" attitude of poster design in that time. My next step is to take these in to Photoshop and manipulate them to see if I can create images that can potentially used in an album or poster design.
