Dota 2 and Jak and Daxter Concept Art

So you may have already seen some of these images in the mood board I did earlier in the semester, but I thought some more Dota 2 and Jak and Daxter concept art on my blog for reference couldn't hurt.

I like the tribal-esque markings on the mask and his arm cuffs.  The mask in particular gives the character a creepy, mysterious quality.

Second on the left gives off a heroic vibe.  The woodsy colour scheme and bandana make me think of a Robin Hood type of character.

Having only the mouth area visible on the left character makes him seem really menacing and dangerous.   Really liking the facial markings on the other two characters too (and the flame hair!)

Lovely use of colour.  The earthly brown contrasts nicely with the turquoise and red.

The claw/wing-like growths on his back are super creepy.

Fish mohawk!

The natural material of the futuristic contraption on his back make for an interesting aesthetic.

Good example of a companion and hero that compliment each other (look at both of their adorable big round eyes!)

Heroic square jawline.  (Perhaps a bit overly square though.)

I like the idea of the companion traveling about on the hero's shoulder.

Super exaggerated proportions

The use of a gradient in the hair colour is really nice.

Leathery material is rendered really nicely on this one.  Yellow highlights contrast subtly with the grey/blue skin tone.

I really like Bob Rafei's dynamically contrasting sharp edges and curved lines.  The technique is shown off well in this piece.
