Poster Design - Illustation 02

The second Tara McPherson inspired poster experimentation so far.  This time based on the thumbnail to the above-right.

Line art created traditionally then scanned and cleaned up.
Experimenting with colour and layout.  This iteration was made before the final logo had been chosen.
Colours finalised.

I stumbled across this composition and decided it worked a lot better than the old one.  There's more emphasis on the focal point - the band logo on the t-shirt - and the close up on the lips and daisies are more interesting visually.

Feedback I received for this stage highlighted that the neck and head are too much to the left, the neckline of the t-shirt is unrealistic and the band's logo looks too "stuck on" to the t-shirt.

For the next iteration I sorted out the anatomy issues and warped the band logo so it fits a bit more realistically around the chest area.  I also played about with curves and added a bit more blue to the image to create a subtly more de-saturated vintage effect.

I haven't done much iteration to the call to action side of the image as I feel keeping it as a simple black and white strip at the bottom clutters the overall image less.
