Hero Silhouettes - 1st Pass

Here are my silhouettes for the hero character.

In the Gnomon DVD I watched on character design pipeline, this is the part where the designs are passed to the rest of the team for feedback.  As this is an individual project I don't have a team, so I gave the above image to my fellow third year computer artists/vis coms via our Facebook group instead. 

When asked which design they felt was most appropriate this was the result:

So 8 was the clear winner.  The reason given was that the design seemed heroic and noble without being too in-your-face about it and the character seemed like they could take care of themselves.  However it should also be noted that some disagreed as they felt the design was dull.

A good point for design 1 was made that " the glasses seem to make him approachable, charismatic and appealing" so I'll keep this aspect of 1's design in mind too.  In the same way some liked 9's design as the pose makes her seem like a leader.  It was also noted that 1, 3, 5 and 10 had interesting shapes, however some felt 5 and and 10's designs were too creepy to be hero-like.
