What do you want to do with the rest of your life?

This seemed like an appropriate doodle to kick start my Computer Arts sketchbook with.

I've changed what I want to specialise in again.  I've decided I want to specialise in... Everything!  Well, everything 2D anyway.

I guess I'll start this little ramble with some images of "what I did with my summer vacation."

I had the awesome opportunity during summer to take part in Dare to be Digital 2013.  As I think I mentioned in a previous post, this is how I ended up working as a UI artist and graphic designer during summer.  I really enjoyed it, UI art is without a doubt an art form in itself, and this is an area I definitely want to look in to more.  However I still can't get the whole concept artist idea out my head.

Realistically, it's super difficult to get a job in the field of concept art, and I'm very aware that the chances of a job in it after graduating are basically nil, so I'll need to work on other skills too in order to make myself more employable...  And that's where the whole UI artist comes in.  The more I think about it, the more becoming a 2D generalist just seems to make perfect sense to me.  I'm so indecisive in that I seem to just want to become great at everything so... Why don't I?

So yeah, it's going to be a hell of a lot of work but I'm determined to succeed.

And that's what I want to do with the rest of my life.

(Hooray?)
