Inspiration

So I decided to go down the concept art route.  I've always put emphasis on improving my traditional art skills and "concept artist" is an idea that's been floating around my brain since day one, so it felt kinda natural to pick this as my specialisation. ...Aaaand I can always learn graphic design etc etc on the side. (Fun fact, I'm also doing a part time programming course this year because apparently I enjoy having no free time whatsoever.)

Here's the work of some concept artists I will probably never be as good as (but hey, a girl can dream!)
Alessandro Taini

Absolutely adore Alessandro Tiani!  I love the way he mixes traditional and digital and the heavy textured brushes he uses in his environments.  He uses lighting really well to create moody scenes and the expressions/poses he uses for his characters always push their personalities.

Adam Adamowicz

Love the way Adam Adamowicz had this ability to seemingly just hammer out ideas in to a sketchbook (as portrayed in the Fallout 3 art book.)

Matt Rhodes

I really admire the way Matt Rhodes can convey the atmosphere of a scene.  I also really like his use of heavy line art, giving his work a different sort of comic book style appearance.

Patryk Olejniczak

Patryk Olejniczac is fantastic at realism.  In the above pieces he used photo textures to help achieve this however no 3D models were used to aid his work.
